I’m Matt. I’m a freelance writer and journalist from the freshwater shores of Northern Michigan.

Since 2021, I’ve been based in Latin America. As a journalist, I’ve covered a wide range of topics, from rock and roll history in Argentina to Southern Brazil’s craft beer culture. I even danced in Buenos Aires’ version of Carnival for Condé Nast Traveler, all for the perfect story and a bit of fun. 

In 2024, I became the co-founder of tastesandtides.com, a digital magazine about good food and good surf.

As a copywriter, I write detailed and original articles, product reviews, recipes, homepages, listicles, and everything in between. This is where my expertise in SEO, content creation, and research shines. I’m a passionate wordsmith who wants every word to have an impact, whether that’s driving sales or bringing readers to the edge of their seats.

As for my personal life, I love surfing, traveling, making music, and learning languages. I speak Japanese, Spanish, and basic Portuguese.
